marreader.PngIt’s that time again, to bore you all with my life, in numbers. (sad people can look at January, and February)

  • This is the 23rd post this month, which means we are at 109 for the year. pre end of financial year has meant it’s been hectic at work, and it’s shows in me blogging less.
  • Google reader says over the last 30 days I’ve read 6,637 items, starred 75 items, shared 1 items, and emailed 0 items. I got rid of something this month, mainly work tenders (there are other people to do that) which means I’m sifting though a lot less. so at the moment I’m finding every 89th thing interesting apparently.
  • I’ve got 43 bits of mail in my home email. I get that much in work in about 4 hours!
  • My camera is broken but we got one for Ruth, so combined over the month we’ve takenSearch History in March 08 around 200 photos. Next month I get a new camera so loads of piccies I think!
  • my facebook status has changed 10 times
  • I’ve sort of read one book. Presentation Zen, I’m in the middle of Pies and Prejudice by Stuart Marconi.
  • Google thinks I’ve searched for stuff 636 time, top site? wikipedia
  • 19 working days this month, which is 104.6 hours. If I’d worked non stop I could have compressed the month into 5.8 days start Monday - finish Saturday 7:12pm

Tim, alseep, but in focus. It was a bit of a sad day yesterday.

Our cat Tim passed away. at about 10am he came in to the house soaking wet. and Ruth and Daisy dried him with a towel, and put him on our bed - the fact he didn’t really bother struggling was a sign really. and then by the time I came home. he was still on the bed.

It was Ruth’s Mum who found him. Basically because Daisy had gone to show here how she had put the towel on Tim.

We told Daisy this morning, and she has taken it quite well, bit of “I want two cats”, and “I wish my cat would come back alive”.

For people who knew our cats, Tim was the small black one with the limp (hence Tim, as in Tiny Tim), He was impossible to photograph because the camera could never focus. Samson the big black and white cat, is OK. he’s upset and quite clingy but he’s not physically ill.

    Some sure Sure signs that it’s spring;

    1. it’s snowing
    2. They’ve turned the heating onto full power on all the trains.

I suppose I should enjoy this brief overlap where the heat is useful, but I have to remember to stand away from the heat ducts. I very nearly caught fire today.

    very hot thighs

We’ve been away this weekend - all the way down south near Portsmouth - not really spring time weather (it snowed at one point) but it was nice to see friends.

A couple of quick things we learnt on the way there and back.

    1) putting your kids to bed in the car works for long journeys.

We set off at 6:30 after giving Henry and Daisy baths and dressing them for bed. Daisy even got her bed time story on the M62. after about an hour of hyper excitement from Daisy they where both asleep. we had the odd murmer later on but all in all it was better than 4 hours with to children awake.

    2) The Toll Road Rocks

The M6Toll last night was emptier than the M58, we did the journey in 4:05 and that includes stopping for 15 mins. Google seems to think it should have taken 4 hours 21 non stop. but it makes certain ‘assumptions’ about speed.

of course we set of Thursday night and got home around 10:30 last night, and now it’s Tuesday and I have to go to work. which is a bit sad. unfortunately the leave situation for me is such that this is all we can do until June, eek out as much as possible from bank holidays.

I spent most of yesterday in what we affectionately use to call a stable door meeting, and almost all of today writing a email about another website. but really i need to spend at least a day writing about a website that doesn’t exist yet so I’m working from home tomorrow. What I’m doing now.. is putting off working from home tonight.

I am so close to becoming one of ‘those’ people, it’s scary - I have lots to do and somebody stole a day out of my week, and that was before somebody trapped me in a room for three hours and then somebody else required a 2 hour email response.

The problem is I want to lead by example, and working stupid hours all night isn’t the example i want to set.  Yes I want people to do work, but I also want them to have a life, and not get burned out and all stressed on me, in the long run that’s much much harder to deal with, then a missed deadline or two.

anyway procrastination rules, lets just search flickr for photos and maybe play a bit of scrabulous.
