Today I’ve crossed the line, from the public section of the records office, to the “archive search room”.I thought I would just be entering into the world of more valuable microfilm, but no, I’ve just gotten the actual admissions register for bluecoat school, in 1868! Its quite scary really, No white gloves but still these are the historical documents

I did actually find what i was looking for with my first attempt, and now i am waiting for the next ‘archive collection’,which is when one of the librarian disappears through a small door for a number of minutes before returning with the documents.

Oh and you can only use pencils in this room.
