We took a trip to the health visitor today; mainly to be weighed and measure, over the last few visits Daisy has been fluctuating quite a lot in terms of weight, so much so that the health visitor was worried that Daisy was getting to many biscuits last time; given that Daisy doesn’t get biscuit’s this was all a bit confusing. Anyway over the last few weeks Daisy has stopped eating her own weight in food at every meal, so her weight this time wasn’t overly out of the norm.
We got all the standard questions: “is she crawling yet?” we’ll no, but she has just started to stand on her all fours and rock back and forth, we count this as trying to craw.
Yesterday was a bit of a development burst, she sat up on her own from lying down at least twice and she worked out how to re-stack her wooden lighthouse. As the health visitor said, they can go though phases of not doing very much only do to loads of new things really quickly, and then stop again.
I’m on holiday…. :o)
it’s not a big long trip, sitting on the beach holiday, its more a sit in the house while somebody takes the roof off holiday. Still it’s some time away from work, something I haven’t really had all summer. So I’m going to take it easy, play with Daisy, and generally have a nice time.
Our Daisy is so clever, and as proof

We’ve been singing this song for all of two days, and Daisy knows most of the words!
It’s a bit early, but apparently the scaffolding bloke has been dead busy, so the scaffolding for the roof went up today.
Next Tuesday the roofers will come, and start to take all the slate off, put down felt, and put on the new batons, and then put all the slate back. They are going to rebuild the top of the chimney while their up there too, oh it’s all exciting.
We had the central heating done last week, and besides the small matter of a drippy ceiling for one day it’s all gone well, the central heating bloke came today, and said, the drip was his fault, he thought he had a cloth mopping up the mess, but he obviously missed a bit. Not to worry though, I’m decorating that room anyway and the whole ceiling needed a good painting.
The only major thing left then will be the windows, it turns out there is a huge waiting list for the windows so they won’t be happening until November, but still once all the work is scheduled we can just sit back and let it all happen.
sometimes, you hear about things from the US and you think it’s can’t be a real place. such as this children’s book
Help! Mom! There are liberals under my bed
Book Description
This full-color illustrated book is a fun way for parents to teach young children the valuable lessons of conservatism. Written in simple text, readers can follow along with Tommy and Lou as they open a lemonade stand to earn money for a swing set. But when liberals start demanding that Tommy and Lou pay half their money in taxes, take down their picture of Jesus, and serve broccoli with every glass of lemonade, the young brothers experience the downside to living in Liberaland.
Thinking about it, i have no evidence that America does exist, Ruth has been, but she could be involved in the conspiracy, America could be part of a lefty BBC conspiracy, America is just a cardboard set at pinewood.
Daisy is going through a bit of a self feeding phase at the moment, which i can tell you makes for messy tea times. thankfully it’s only tea and lunch times at the moment, and she’s not trying to eat her morning porridge with her hands. It can be quite infuriating, but if you get the right foods on her plate it’s not to bad, yesterday we even did some self feeding with the spoon, it had to be mashed potato, because you can squish it down so it doesn’t (easily) come off a waved spoon.

Daisy, with a big grin on her face
We are still working at crawling and walking, there’s no rush because rolling is doing fine. we had a moment of daisy hasn’t got enough dexterity toys on Sunday and go her a wooden sorter block. not the greatest one in the world, as many of the shapes fit through more than one hole, but Daisy likes it.
Lego Quatro is the favourite for the birthday present. on a recent visit to some friends with a 15 month old son, we (and by we i do mean daisy and me) enjoyed playing with the lego, daddy would build a big tower, and daisy would come and knock it down, hours of fun.
if this where real, this magazine would have my subscription right away (if i go around to posting the form back).
