Save Money with Online/Offline shopping
posted on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 by Kevin in [Consuming, Nerdy]it’s a bit of an ongoing experiment in shopping this so it may not work.
Currently we need a new printer, (don’t get me started on how much I hate printers), and after some thought we’ve decided jump the shark on inkjet printers and get a Laser instead.
So at the moment, the best choice appears to be the HP Color LaserJet 2550L retailing in PC World at ?249.99 in store and ?234.98 on-line, but as you may know we’re quite impatient and we want it now, so it’s the ?249.99 option? well no, if you go to PC world, and start like you are going to purchase it on-line, and then say “oh no I’ll collect it from the store in about an hour”, you get the on-line price! bargain!
we’re just about to nip out and collect. so it will be interesting to see, if PC world hold to there end of the bargin. I will of course throw a strop threaten to leave and then buy it anyway if they don’t.
Update 1: OK so that went as well, they typed my reference number into their pooters, found the Printer and charged me the Internet only price, so providing the big heavy box I’ve just lumped up stairs is a printer we’re good to go.
Update 2: Cool, (or Book as we now say), it works, and after removing a very large amount of orange locking things, we have a colour laser printer in the house. It takes up most of my cupboard mind, but that’s a small price to pay for a printer that works, and works fast!
