<description>I remember my first scan had our boy dated about two weeks less than the good ol' wheel. The second had him at a week less and the third had him a week and a half ahead - which he turned out to be.
The dr guessed, by the state of my belly (the day before he was born) that he wouldn't be out until four days later.
I'd just pick a date and tell the li'l one that it's time to come out! lol

<description>It certainly explains why the hospital have never been able to reassure me with stats. I like stats, in such an uncertain business they give me something to make assumptions on. But when you ask "How MANY women have some bleeding in early pregnancy, but still go on to successfully deliver?" and "What proportion of labours go through in an uncomplicated way, without the sudden need for extra intervention?" and "When will we know for certain that the cyst won't interfere with a natural delivery?", they have no idea. It turns out that they avoid the numbers, because of how they undermine all their norms!</description>

<description>We've actually being doubting 'our' due date, from pretty early on. the first date the doctor gave us using the 'wheel of fortune' came down around the 15th September, and it was only after measuring the baby on the first ultrasound that this was changed to the 12th.

their is good evidence to suggest that due dates in this country are all wrong, we've been given figures from 10% down to 2% of births are actually on that date. in france it's common practice to calculate 41 weeks for the first baby.

<description>Don't forget that the due date is just an indicator. I wonder how many babies are actually born on that date?

From the stories I've read, things can be completely varied - I was in labour for 12 hours and managed to get away with spending anhour n the hospital before my boy was born. If makes you feel any better, it is possible to manage without pain relief, and I didn't think the pain was too bad.

If I don't hear from you again, best of luck for the big day.
